You may think it doesn't have much to do with things like adventurous training, or leadership. In fact it shows how disciplined and organised you can be as an individual, remembering instructions and carrying them out accurately. More importantly, it shows your ability to work in a team and is a way of displaying the high standards of dress and behaviour which the ATC is renowned for.

There are two main parades we attend each year; the Braintree remembrance parade and the Essex Wing parade. The latter also plays host to the inter-squadron drill and banner competition, where the best two teams can go on to represent the Wing in the Regional competition and then try to become the best in the Corps.
