Camps are a great way to experience what the ATC has to offer whilst living with like minded people to make friends with, it is also a very good way to develop yourself as a cadet and gain new skills. There are two type's of Camps we run.
Blue Camp
Blue's camps usually take place on a RAF base and last for a week, there are two slots; Easter and Summer, although the number of places differs from camp to camp. There are many things to do on camp such as the usual ATC activities, there is also the chance to visit the stations sections to get an insight into RAF life, there is at least one museum visit and a chance to socialise by going to something such as bowling. These camps usually cost around £40, excluding spending money, it is well worth the cost. Sergeant Tucker has been to RAF Bramton, RAF Odiham and RAF Wittering:
'Camps are just an amazing place to meet new people, with also a wide variety of things to do in them, from flying and gliding, to work experience in different sections to shooting on ranges. Its an amazing experience and one i wouldnt pass on if i got the chance to go again.'

Green Camp
Essex Wing runs one Green Camp per year which is attended by around 250 cadets from around the wing, and is normally held at an Army training ground. It also lasts a week and there is a wide variety of things to do there such as: clay pigeon shooting, canoeing, climbing, walking, obstacle course, leadership and initiative exercises, go karting or quad biking amongst other activities. These camps normally cost around £100.
